oh faithful readers of my inane babbling, i must apologize for my absence of late. i've been out for a few days with what may be food poisoning but could also be some form of flu. whee! at any rate, i'm still a bit under the weather and have been stocking up on sleep, but am somewhat alive and at work today.

i did get out of the apartment on wednesday night, as promised, to see ogilthorpe live in concert at the stork club. chris picked me up and we made our way out to oakland (thanks for driving, chris!), where we had some time to lounge and socialize before the ogies went on at 10pm. also in attendance were aleksey of quake magic fame and his drummer vad, as well as roadie mike. the ogies really put on a great show, and having seen them a few times, i think i'm allowed to compare. this was one was fun, upbeat, clean (with the exception of a few broken drumsticks and one broken guitar string on mike dmh's brand-new green sparkly guitar), and insane as the great benoit bounced around the stage area like there was no tomorrow. he sure wore himself out, but it was as entertaining to watch as it was to hear. can't say the same for the following screech band, but hey, can't win 'em all.

ucla-stanford women's basketball game tomorrow that i got roped into coordinating... hopefully the women's team will fare better than the men's has been. more later, when my brain is back in full functionality...
