i need a break from my life. not all aspects of it, mind you, i'm not depressed or going to kill myself or anything. i just really need a vacation from the stress and chaos that seems to be running rampant. hopefully the trip to atlanta will alleviate some of that (although the fact that i can't be there more often is part of the problem, i think), but i'm really in need of some serious time off. i'm too young to be needing that.... who knows. things could straighten themselves out around here and allow me some time to breathe, and sleep, and relax. maybe. i won't be holding my breath on that one though.

choir concert this sunday. yikes! we have one more dress rehearsal tomorrow, which i hope comes together much more smoothly than yesterday's rehearsal went. the director decided it would be fun to mix us all up for the performance (rather than sing in our sections, like we're used to). he says it sounds better when all the sounds are coming from all over the choir. while i can understand that, we're all floundering quite a bit because he mixed us up *so* well that there is no one from our sections even near us. i'm on the far side of the choir, and the closest alto is three people away (it's not that big a choir). i really do need at least one other person within earshot, though, because you can pick up vocal cues from them if you lose your place. i was so lost yesterday, and i *know* this music. frustrating. oh well. we'll see how it goes.... i hope we don't kill the music.

levente (my dad's brother) is in town from montana all this weekend dealing with funeral arrangements and stuff. he'll come back in june with his family for the memorial service, along with a number of other family people who plan on coming into town. i think the whole thing with nagymama really hit him hard, since he hasn't been around her and hasn't seen the decline. while it's sad, of course, it's slightly easier to digest if it's something you've kind of been expecting.

went ice skating with bryan and meghan this weekend at yerba buena in sf. i've never been skating there before, and it's a small but decent rink. bryan is a stud on ice, hockey-boy that he is. i did okay, it's been a while since i've been on ice but i was able to hold my own. we'll have to go skating more often so we can get meghan off the boards, though ;) we also went to see a mighty wind, which is an indy film put out by christopher guest (the same guy who wrote waiting for guffman, best in show, and spinal tap). hilarious. i love parker posey (although her part was small in this flick), and the "folksmen" were great. hilarious movie.
