where oh where did my shout-outs go? where oh where could they be? they've disappeared from the format of my webpage. how sad.

i'm so supremely bored at work today, and completely unmotivated. we were supposed to have our first big review meeting for the fall slate grants cycle today, but heather is sick. she's been out sick with a killer migraine, so we're pushing the meeting back until monday. that being said, i guess i could have gotten started on some of the things that i won't be able to do on monday, but i'm bored. and lazy. and unmotivated. i think we've covered this ground already today. ;)

soccer practice has been somewhat unfulfilling so far... it's fun to get out there and get a touch on the ball, but since it's the off-season we haven't had more than 8 people out at a time. it's really tough to run drills or a scrimmage with only a few people. we even ended up doing a 3v3 scrimmage this past wednesday. while it's good in the sense that you're more involved in the play and you get more contact with the ball, it's not the kind of situation that allows you to develop plays and communication. i actually had to teach some of the players a very basic square-pass drill to get them to get the sense of opening themselves up for passes from the person with the ball. now, i'm no coach nor soccer expert, but c'mon now people! ball skills come with the practices and games, but you have to have some understanding of the concept of the game if you're going to try to play it. meh. oh well. i think this team will give me something of an opportunity to get back in shape, and then i can look for another team to step up to once my skills come back. (i hope.)

EQ game this saturday, but yet again bryan-less because he can't get a ride :( it's the last home game for a while, which makes me somewhat sad, but that'll open up my weekends a bit so i can consider getting away or something. i'll be in LA next weekend for stephen's restaurant opening, and then i'll likely be in LA again on august 23 for a UCLA leadership conference. i have to buy my plane ticket for that sometime soon. act in gear, someday, i swear.
