look, a bloggy entry, on special request by bryan who already knows the daily workings of my sedentary life ;)

i have shin splints!! argh! i'm so frustrated... i felt like i was starting to get them last week during practice, workout, and game, and on wednesday at practice (after a few days off) i realized that they had become full-blown. :( with thanks to my lovely athletic injury guru liz, i have some remedies, but probably nothing that will fix me before tomorrow's game. arch supports seems to be helping, and i'm going to the game suited up, just in case. i don't have high hopes, though. dammit, my team needs me! (or at least i'd like to think so.) i will get another soccer fix in the evening though, when the earthquakes play the dallas burn.

we here in the southwest office have been busted for internet traffic. we're no longer allowed to use IM, streaming radio, or anything that's non-work-related. yes, i realize that i'm blogging during work hours, so sue me. the thing is, the IT guys in DC are worried about us leaving the internet lines open (via IM, radio, etc) because then we're more susceptible to viruses, hacking, and clogged up servers. i think the last is the biggest problem, just making work/email/internet access slow way down, but i don't see the virus logs so what do i know. i feel somewhat cut off, though, especially since my email server here has been slooooow for months. using IM, i'm able to quickly get ahold of the people i need to get ahold of. i don't do a lot of chatting while i'm at work, but i do talk to people periodically.... so now i can't! at least not via IM. email works as a somewhat secondary substitute. oh well. so anyway, if you're used to seeing me online all day every day, no more. fini. i'll probably try to get on occasionally once the fervor has died down, but i'll wait a few weeks before i attempt it. big bummer over here.

a big HELL YEAH for the USWNT, now 2-0 in the women's world cup with wins over sweden and nigeria.

bonfire tonight! we're going to go back to the same beach to have another bonfire, although i don't think i'll know that many people this time. i'm sure it will still be a blast, though. mmmmm s'mores!
