oh my goodness, so exhausted today! fun and packed weekend, including clubbing with 17 thousand people from karena's church, soccer and more soccer, dinner at a french restaurant, dinner with my old roomie, bruins losing, 49ers winning, earthquakes winning....
i forgot to mention on friday... bryan made me a sweet wallpaper featuring some of my favorite earthquakes players, and it is now gracing my computer screen. yay bryan! :D
can someone explain to me why intelligent people are going to vote for arnold? i just don't get it. why would you vote for someone when you have no idea what he stands for? yes, he has warren buffet on his team. and yes, he's married to maria shriver of kennedy family fame. but has he publicly spoken about ANY issue he has a stance on? are people that brainwashed by a household name and a pretty face (although not pretty in any sense i would choose)? i just don't understand. i can sort of understand getting davis out of office, but the reason is to improve the economy. if you have to vote for a republican, why not vote for a candidate that actually has a history of being able to improve economic ability of organizations (ueberroth)? or if you're focusing on economic ability, why not camejo? or even huffington, who appears to have a much better grasp on what to do than arnold can ever hope to have. what does arnold have that even remotely marketable? ugh. this recall thing is such a spectacular waste of money in a time when the state has very little, but it's even more of a measure of the idiocy and apathy of california's population if the populus votes for a guy who doesn't even disclose his positions on issues.
so, we lost our first game, 2-1. not too bad, but i think all of us were just so exhausted that we didn't care about the outcome. i sort of got into with a girl on the other team during the first half... i mistimed a tackle and hit her instead of the ball, resulting in a foul. after that, she and i were playing each other pretty tough, and i leaned into her so she reacted and threw me (resulting in a foul against her). she was kind of pissed, but at halftime we kind of cleared it up. we still played each other tough but not in a mean-spirited way. well, i wasn't ever playing mean-spirited, and she eased up after half. it's just a game, you know :) i played about 80 minutes (of 90), and i just had no energy left. this is on about 4 hours of sleep, and i was smart and went clubbing that night, too! no small wonder that i'm exhausted today.
clubbing... clubbing was fun, yet again :) karena and i had our drinks right at the beginning of the night and were set for the rest of the time... i think rich was good with just one tokyo tea, and there were so many people there that it was pretty crazy. karena's friends from davis that i know were there, plus a bunch of people from her church (some that i've met before, many that i hadn't). mostly hung out with kat, rich, kat's friends james and joe (both of whom are hilarious), and sammy's group. viv also was there and she was hanging with us for a while. i talked to a few people briefly (kat's friends andrew, collin, han, leighton, sally...) but there were so many people there that i didn't really get to hang out with them. ah well, next time :) or next time kat has a bbq! (hey, she's due for a housewarming party, so.... :)) many thanks to kat's friend rich for driving and picking me up so i didn't have to drive :)
