i stopped by skyline this morning to (finally) register for my choir class... after much hassle trying to register online and not being allowed to, i finally just decided to find a time to come by campus during the day. i ran into jude (the director) on the way into the admissions office, and he stopped me to tell me how impressed he was with my singing! wow. alberta keeps telling me that he thought it was good, but it was definitely a compliment to hear it directly from jude (and embarrassing too, i have no idea how to take compliments like that). he said that he was going to be choosing the soloists this week, and that now that he knows i can sing he's going to have me doing more solo stuff. yikes! i mean, i guess that's good, but yikes! he had another woman try the solo part last night (the part i tried), but she really messed up... because of that, and because of jude's comments today, i have a feeling i'll get the part. eek! my first solo!
chad went back to columbus today :( very sad. i'm always bummed that he lives halfway across the country. he does want to move back eventually, but who knows when that will be. i did get numbers for jason and jim, though, so i can actually hang out with them even if chad's not here! heh.
i almost forgot-- chad brought me a cup from out-r-inn! i know none of you (except vickie, who doesn't read this) have any idea what that is, but it's definitely wrought with good memories of the trip i took out to columbus two years ago. i was so touched that he remembered to bring it for me! :) yes, it's a cup, not a big deal, but still. and he's a boy, and boys never remember stuff like that (unless it's for girlfriends, which i certainly am not). very cool. :) perfect for a pint of beer, exactly what it was designed to contain. :)
chaos at work again... yet again, the powers that be are initiating a new process before the system is fully in place. we're moving to an online format for preproposal and proposal submission, but so far no one can look at the submissions except for claire (the regional director). that doesn't make much sense, since she has very little to do with project management. for whatever reason, we can't all log in and view the preproposals. augh! not even heather, who is the manager of project administration. she's currently requesting access, since claire is out of town and we need to gain access today, but otherwise she wouldn't be able to view them either. what the heck sense does that make? just another instance of people here jumping the gun. sheesh. get your damn ducks in a row before you shoot 'em, wouldja? you'd think they'd have learned by now.
