it's friday!! nothing to do tonight, as far as i know, although i'm sure i'll try to find something. tomorrow's a big day-- soccer game on treasure island, and then dinner and clubbing for kat's birthday. i have to figure out how i can get out tomorrow night without having to drive, but i may not be able to work it. :( big bummer. maybe i need to figure out the owl bus services so i can figure out how to get around the city in the middle of the night without having to drive.

sete is going back to puerto rico on tuesday, too, so i don't have much chance left to see her :( she'll be back for christmas, of course, but i'm going on a cruise! oh, did i forget to mention that? my fam and i are going on a cruise over christmas... it leaves from new orleans, and ports in cozumel, roatan bay (honduras), belize city, and cancun. woo hoo! i'm hoping to get to do some diving or snorkeling in central america; i've heard it's the best place in the world to do it! we're also going to spend a couple of days in new orleans on either end of the trip, since none of us has been there. yay yummy cajun food! i can't wait, it's going to be much fun! i'll be home for my birthday, gone for 10 days, and then back in time for new year's eve.

hey, what are we doing for new year's eve this year? i'd offer up my place, but it's not really conducive to partying like last year's place. anyone else? must plan, must plan! we always end up doing something last-minute. maybe i can coerce teddie into having a shindig at his pad. hmmmm... we wouldn't be able to go into the city from there very easily, though. maybe mark's house? marky mark, you know you want to have a party :D

we have a new project administrator at my office, kristen, and she seems pretty cool. our new intern, zan, is also cool. what's with enviros who love the grateful dead, phish, and widespread panic? it seems like 70% of my office is into those guys! the dead's not bad, but i can't take too much of the ethereal phish and panic. i like stuff i can dance to, or sing along to. one of the reasons that i'm not all that into radiohead, either. i think i'm into angsty music right now (although i just bought a maroon 5 cd, on rebecca's high recommendation).... there's a beth orton cd i need to buy (or burn), as well as whiskeytown. anyway, it's nice to have new people in here... we're also getting a new finance person on monday (michi?), who will be taking over my office the following week. :( i have to move all my junk AGAIN. this will be the fourth time.... *sigh* ahh, woe is me.

sad news of the week: george died this past weekend. (not bryan-george, don't worry.) george is my cousins' other grandfather (on their mom's side, not related by blood but they're as close to me as family since they're always at family events and stuff).... he hadn't been doing well for a while, but things took a turn (and a fall) for the worst and he passed away. my mom is flying down for the funeral tonight, and zoltán is going, too. i would go if i were down there, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for me to fly down for part of a day. sad, though :(
