oh no! garrison hearst and derrick deese are being released from the niners. :( i guess all of kevan barlow's big talking got him the starting spot. man. i'm going to miss hearst. in other niners news, we get to keep TO (woo freakin' hoo) because he missed the deadline to apply to be an unrestricted free agent. with all the backtalk he's been putting out there, wouldn't you think he'd be on top of that? my guess is that he still won't suit up as a niner this season... he'll be put on the trading block, and for big bucks, too. jeff garcia may be on that block too.... time for tim rattay and ken dorsey to step and show their stuff!

i have decided that bay area sports teams' ticket sales people are awesome. that may be a generalization, i realize, but i have now worked with the sales people for three teams (sharks, earthquakes, and a's), and they have all been really awesome. mike hollywood at the sharks has been especially amenable... i know it's these guys' jobs to get people to buy tickets, but i was going to buy tickets anyway-- and they're still really cool! adam clar at the a's made a good first impression too. rock on, sports guys! :)
