blogging from OC... i'm still down here from the weekend for easter... i always love coming down to see all the cousins. i know i say this every time i'm here, but i really do. i'm glad i'm fortunate enough to know my cousins well, and that all of us are so close. we all appreciate our holiday traditions, and i think we'll all try to continue them as much as we possibly can. taylor is going to be the big moneymaker when he gets his big-league pitching contract, so he'll be the one to buy the 10-bedroom house ;) either that or trev, who can already afford a house. sheesh! at any rate, always good to see them.

we had our annual bocce ball tournament... tay and i were partnered up, and we lost early. we did pretty decently in badminton though! :) peyton (tay's girlfriend) did well in both, and finally got introduced to the whole clan. (i think my parents were the only ones who hadn't met her.) food was great, as usual, and plentiful... which is good since it got inhaled! carol also made these tasty chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. mmm! :)

can't forget to mention that saturday afternoon was the home opener for the san jose earthquakes. yay! they tied 0-0, and ramiro corrales got a red card (he's had a rough week!)... bummer, but some of the players played really tough games against a ref who refused to call anything our way. he let so much of the other team's fouls go, and called some nasty stuff on the quakes. sucks. also, i'm increasingly frustrated with landon donovan... i'm sure i get like this several times a season-- but if the guy would just *use* the talent we all know he has, then i wouldn't have anything to complain about! the problem is that he gives about a 30% effort when the rest of the team is giving 110%. he takes himself out of the game to complain about a call that doesn't come, and then misses great opportunities while the play is still going on around him. bleh. but i'm so glad it's earthquakes season! i love soccer. i think i'm a soccer nut... :)

and the sharks are winning, 2-0, in the series against st. louis. i'm wearing a sharks shirt today. go sharks! i wonder how much playoff tickets cost... maybe i'll try to go to the next series... evidently you can get group tickets for as few as six tickets! hmm... anyone want to go? (how sad... i'm reluctant to shell out the money for concerts or shows, but if it's a sports thing i'm in! heh. i really am a nut.)

i get to see kevin today! yay :)
