as i struggle yet again to define myself, please forgive me if i act somewhat distant. it seems that, periodically as i grow and learn more about what i need for myself in my life, i come to junctions where i have to decide what is best and what is the most reliable course for me. i don't intend to disappear from the lives of my friends and family by any means, but i have some things i need to figure out for myself before i open myself up for Q-and-A. ahh, cryptic, i know, but that'll remain one of the mysteries that lies herein. i'm mostly an open book, so i have to have some mysterious elements to me, right? right. :) but thank you in advance for bearing with me, and thank you for not judging me in my struggles.

on a lighter and much less cryptic note, crazy hockey-- i mean soccer-- game on saturday! continuing in what seems to be a theme of horrific officiating this season, the first-year ref at the earthquakes-revolution game lost control early on. he didn't squelch the nasty play of joey franchino, he didn't settle the battling between mulrooney and the thuggish shalrie joseph, and i'm pretty sure he misread the call that led to troy dayak's ejection from his comeback game. ugh. not to mention the goal that was called back because the ref said he had called a foul before the goal was scored. hello, sweet advantage, my long-lost friend... we must introduce you to this ref because you and he have obviously not met. *sigh* in a spitfire of rebellion and pissed-off power play, landon donovan, brian ching, brian mullan, and richard mulrooney put together a good 35 minutes of pressure-- resulting in two stoppage time goals by the quakes to tie it up. sure didn't expect to get any points out of that game, but they sure were angry enough to get there. all i have to say is that dom better find a way to bottle that anger, because that was some serious soccer.

setareh is back in puerto rico as of sunday. :( i miss her already.
