save the earthquakes! i doubt that anyone who reads my piddly little blog has $30 million dollars to spare, but the san jose earthquakes sure need it. soccer silicon valley held a rally last friday (which i tried to make it to but only caught the tail end), and they're reporting an audience of about 1,500. hopefully someone in that crowd knows someone who knows someone who can save this team... the current owners evidently do not have a commitment to the welfare of the earthquakes. gotta love corporate mindgames.
the earthquakes themselves, resplendent in retro red, killed the dallas burn on saturday, though. krazy george was in the house, and he really got the crowd riled the whole game. the quakes were pumped to win, and probably had some anger and frustration to burn off. corrales finally had a good game (which he needed, after a bunch of mediocre-to-bad ones), and all of our solid players had yet again solid games. loved the plays setting up the first and third goals.... lovely lovely!
got to play bob the carpenter this weekend... heather has been under pressure from her fam to finish up the room she's remodeling, so i decided to help her get some of it done. we caulked and sanded and prepped and painted (a first coat, at least). it's called what, wavecrest? it's a really light blue... it's pretty :) it'll need a second coat, but the room is well on its way to completion. it needs the paint, molding, and flooring (yes, she's a stud and can do flooring on her own) and then voila! :) sewing room for mom.
