*whew* another long three days of project review mosh pitting. this is one of the best parts of my job (the presentation and discussion of all new projects to put forward for funding), but it's loooong. i had trouble with two of my projects with potential advocacy issues-- one may be an issue, but i'm pretty sure the other isn't. the rest of my projects flew through without many glitches, including a boreal toad recovery project that i'm really excited about! :) i'll be out of the office all next week so i need to get my follow-up stuff done tomorrow... but i'm pretty sure i can handle it. i'm ready for a vacation.

speaking of which, i'm going to tahoe next week for about four days. yay! like i did last year, i'm getting to crash my parents' vacation for a few days at their lovely tahoe timeshare. i'm looking forward to some time on the beach, a little hiking, some good food, shakespeare on the beach at night, and relaxing with the 'rents and by myself some too. i'm going to try to also crash the sierra nevada alliance conference, which is taking place this weekend in south lake. that's a great conference-- i went a few years ago on nfwf's dollar, and it was a good meeting of the minds on all things sierra, forestry, and water. (did you know that the sierras provide 70% of california's water?)

did i tell you i saw the bourne supremacy? well, i did. fancy that, two movies in not that long a period of time! shocker, i know. i liked it quite a bit... i think i liked the first one better, but i liked the way the cinematography made you feel like you were right in the car with him, racing away from the bad guy, looking down the scope of the sniper rifle. and yes, it's set up for a third installment. fun action flick with a little bit of psychomanipulation mixed in for good measure.

wow. i'm tired. mostly happy and relaxed, but tired. too much stress in my life lately. i hope that next week will help with some of that.
