is this a sign of better things to come for bruin football this season? i certainly hope so.
inundation of ucla alumni events this weekend-- board meeting, freshman send-off potluck, and scholarship banquet. all went smoothly (more or less), and i'm kind of glad they all got taken care of in one fell swoop. would have liked more down time this weekend, though.
zephyr's season started with a bang with a 5-2 win-- and the other team only scored two because we were missing our goalkeeper. woo hoo! i hope this is a sign of the changing tides, too. next week's game against the sirens (the team to beat) will be a good indication. hopefully our star 'keeper will be in gameshape by then.
headhunting-- strangely flattering, but random. glad it's happening to good people, though.
i've been really productive at work today! that's exciting, only because i was entirely unproductive for most of last week. in fact, i probably have gotten more done today than i did in the entirety of last week (which isn't saying *too* much, mind you, since i was only at work three days last week). i guess i needed some lazy, catch up at my own pace time following the long hours during the high part of the grant cycle.
earthquakes countdown: t-minus five days. c'mon boys, where's the fire in the bellies? we need you...
