more shake-ups at the top: following the lead of john ashcroft, four more cabinet members are resigning from the shrub regime, including secretary of state colin powell. according to this article, several others are expected to leave shortly, too. is this the white house's effort to get rid of people in power who know too much about their shortcomings? or is this the voice of the cabinet saying, hey, we don't agree with what the white house is doing and we don't want to be a part of it anymore? interesting.

moved! not me, unfortunately, but marla, heather, and i spent most of yesterday moving liz and marla into their new townhouse. man, do they ever have a lot of stuff! somehow marla and heather were able to bat their eyelashes and get some men to help them with moving the couch and the mattress, but we took truckloads of bookshelves, boxes, chairs, etc etc over to new place. most of it is piled in the living room for now, but at least most of it is moved. i want my own place! hmph.

saw the incredibles this weekend. it's good. go see it. :) and yes, there will be a sequel.

oh, also on my recommendations list: the kite runner, by khaled hosseini. books usually don't make me cry, but this one did. and in this case, it's worth the tears because it's a really good read.
