happy 2005! i can't believe it's a new calendar year already. it seems like my life is flying by so quickly-- many new things but many things staying very much the same, making it hard to quantify the passage of time.

new year's eve itself was mellow but quite lovely. heather and i dined sumptuously on made-from-scratch spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, chilean wine, cabernet jelly appetizers, and the pleasant company of liz, marla, anne, and the hirsute kyle. we were then due for the party at karena's apartment, where we rang in the new year with karaoke revolution, sweet champagne, caramel-dipped apples, and two new year's countdowns (what can i say, karena is a nut. :)). sleeping in the next day was sweet, too.

sad day, having to go back to work tomorrow morning. i was looking forward to the week off for a while, and now it's over. i had a great week, spending lots of time playing, eating, being with people i love, and relaxing, but now it's back to the grind and everyday bureaucracy. :( hmph. oh new job, where art thou? (although speaking of which, i have another interview this week. yay!)
