so, with lots of help from my friends, i'm pretty much moved into my new place. it's cute... i still have to figure out where everything goes (yes, stuff is still in boxes), but the place is definitely growing on me. i need to make one more trip up to the city to get the last of my stuff and clean the place, but then i should be completely transitioned to the new digs. moving is a pain but it's also kind of fun to be in a new place. i'm starting to put up the homey touches that will make it my own. there will assuredly be a bbq grill added to the mix shortly (per heather's request, or should i say insistence :)), so hopefully there will be a lovely little housewarming party as soon as i get things in order.

now is the time for lots of big changes! for me-- job and home; for my brother-- car, home, and soon to be location (his car got totalled the other day! and he's moving to texas at the end of march to work on turning texas blue by 2008); for heather-- potentially a new job and home; for marla and liz-- the tribulation of refinancing their first home; for judy-- optometry school (interviews in new york in a few weeks!); for setareh-- the trials of figuring out what medicine she wants to specialize in; for my cousin taylor-- a shot at the big leagues (this summer, hopefully!); for the nhl-- no season. whew!

did laundry for the first time in the new place last night. i know this seems trivial, but after two years of not having easy access to a washing machine (even though there was one in my landlady's garage, she wouldn't let me use it), it's nice to be able to do it in your own building. of course, i'd been doing it for free at the homes of various mothers (heather's and mine), so the whole free lunch thing was nice too. :)

and now, i must return to cleaning and unpacking. au revoir!
