for all my indignance, no one seems to care. i guess i'll need to get used to that, too.
driving to work today, i passed a construction site that i pass nearly every day. it is little more than rubble and dirt, but today i noticed that there's a sign just within the guard fence that reads "site of old mountain view" and goes on to list several historic buildings that used to be there. i don't remember if i knew what was on that corner before they started tearing it down, but i'm somewhat sad that historic sites are no longer valued at that location. i realize that mountain view isn't exactly the center of culture, but there's so much effort put towards preservation of history that it seems odd that this only warrants a small sign. it's right along el camino (the original el camino), too, so it's possible that the history dates back farther than i am aware. maybe i should do some research on the history of my newly adopted town.
weekend was good, but busy! zephyr won, the earthquakes tied (after a heinous red card call by the ref on eddie robinson that shouldn't have even been a foul), and we're sending four great candidates to state finals in two weeks (including a kid i used to babysit!). we tried going climbing at castle rock on sunday, but it was so cold so we didn't get that many climbs in. we'll have to go again soon. tonight is choir and possibly some goldenstate rocking out in san jose, and life just keeps on keepin' on...
