i love long weekends! i especially love long weekends where you end up having lots of free time to do as you please, without restriction of schedule... it's weekends like those when i end up actually doing quite a lot! it also seems like a lot of people were out of town for the long weekend, so regular things that might have been busy were not busy at all. yay!
in true list form of late, some highlights:
*watching the earthquakes game at the brit (a loss, sadly) and the US-england game (another loss, sadly)
*mini-golfing... i pulled out a win on the back nine after i sucked it up the first nine holes
*sleeping in late! i never seem to be able to do this anymore...
*mushroom mardi gras and crazy good tri-tip sandwiches from mansmith's. MAN. i'm not a big tri-tip fan, but holy scrumptiousness!
*bbq and swimming on a gorgeous memorial day. i love when sweet corn is in season!
*a's game-- scratch that, a's WIN in the bottom of the 11th, after a brilliant comeback in the bottom of the ninth utilizing input from almost everyone on the roster
*fireworks after the a's game, and getting to watch them while sitting on the a's outfield (how i would love to play soccer on a pitch like that. a thing of beauty, i tells ya.)
*black bear dinner with h's mom. if you haven't been to this back-home diner, you should go. it's tastiness defined.
*movie rentals! another thing i haven't had time to do in a while. of note: spanglish. not so of note: mr. 3000 and assault on precinct 13. (guess which one was heather's request? ;)) one day i'll actually go see episode iii, i swear.
*getting all the errands and chores taken care of-- the laundry folded, the refrigerator stocked, and the dishes washed. yes, this is a good thing.
i haven't heard from yet if kristin is doing okay after her c-section on thursday. hopefully they'll send out word soon. i hope they're doing well...
