a few big things that deserved a post:
sete got into her second-choice residency program in fresno! i'm so excited and proud of her... she's worked so hard, and now she has found success by matching with a program she is really happy with. plus, she'll be in california (only about 2-2.5 hours' drive away), so i'll actually continue to get to see her regularly, even if it's only in the three hours she has free between c-sections and replacing women's crumbling uteri.
i finally have plans in place to go visit my brother in texas! the hours are crazy, and it's right around a big election, but i'll get to go see him and get a real taste of what he does for a living. i have a feeling i'll be put to work, but i'm interested to see what exactly that means... (not sure how great of a unionizer i'd be, but we'll see, i suppose.)
march madness hopes for both of the bruins hoops teams... and i'll even get to see sweet sixteen (and potentially elite eight) for the men's team, since i have tickets! can't wait... and i'm going with some other bleed-blue-and-gold fans, so it'll be a good time.
two big purchases-- a new backpack (finally!), courtesy of trevor, nfwf, my dividend, and a 20% off coupon at lovely rei. it's a gregory baltoro, in a lovely forest green and raring to go! the second was a bit pricier but well-worth the health benefits... a brand-new sleep train simmons mattress (complete with price matching and free sheets). i can't wait for it to arrive so i can (hopefully) fix my tired-all-the-time syndrome.
