i'm having a sordid love affair with lake tahoe. i've always loved the outdoors, with a special place in my heart for the sierras and the redwoods, but i think i may love tahoe best of all. you know how you love a place so much that you feel at ease there, happy and rested and at one with yourself? that's how i feel about tahoe, especially in the off-season when we get the place almost all to ourselves. i love tahoe in the summer and in the winter too, but the quiet of the in-between season is unmatched. the beautiful, mild springtime weather with nearly cloudless skies was even more spectacular from the saddle of my mountain bike. i want to try the rim trail next time i'm there (which i hope is sooner rather than later!).
to catch up on big news, since i have been mostly silent for a while-- there are three new additions to my family! my brother and his lovely wife g have gotten married, and their first rugrat is due in the fall. g is great, and she's making my brother pretty happy, so i'm glad she's part of the family now... and my cousin trev is getting married in the summer. trev's fiancee has essentially been a part of the family already, but i'm glad it's going to be official soon.
in baseball news, we have an up-and-coming pitcher in our midst! i've been satiating my lack of soccer and hockey with baseball, as i've been sitting in the stands for my share of sj giants games. my cousin taylor is on fire, and he's currently holding the best era in the league! i'm enjoying watching him play locally, but he's doing so well that i have a feeling he won't be here too long. i'll be sad he'll be farther away, but it is great potential for him... and i'll be able to get to fields in fresno or san francisco pretty easily :)

Hey C-Star
I found it before you sent the link. Cute. Here's a topic for you. What was the last courageous thing you did?
