umpire: idiot who couldn't call strikes! the same guy made some terrible calls at first base the night before, and last night he screwed up taylor's awesome outing. tay had a clean slate across the board until the end of the ninth... no hits, no runs, seven strikeouts... then in the ninth he had three (three!) batters down to their last strike and the umpire was calling balls. i wasn't there, but from the radio commentary (and taylor's post-game reaction), the guy was blowing it. ugh. i hate when referees and umpires change the outcome of games.
