love is a many-splintered thing... ahh, what a poetic line, just caught my eye from another bloggy. if that isn't true about the complications of love, i don't know what is.

atlanta was great. far too short a trip for my liking, but it was good to get out there for at least the small amount of time that i got. it only makes things harder, but that was also to be expected. good things come to those who wait, so i guess i'll be waiting. and sorting out my feelings somewhere along the road, because they're kind of a mess right now.

no word yet on the new position here at nfwf, although i did have a (slightly impromptu) interview with beth and beth in DC the other day. i think i did fairly decently, although i would have had some talking points in front of me if i'd known i was going to be interviewed. is that totally unprofessional, to do an interview without giving the interviewee any lead time to prepare? oh well. the problem was that a lot of the things i said pertained to the whole southwest office program team, and that doesn't help my cause because my coworker heather is also applying for the position. we'll see how it goes, i guess.

ncaa basketball championship tonight, kansas vs syracuse. i had neither one of those teams even making the elite eight, so needless to say i'm losing out in my pool. oh well. it's kind of fun to see that the top seeds fell out. the women's tourney has three number one seeds and a number two seed in the final four. i guess that's the way it's technically supposed to work, but it's more exciting when there are big upsets (who the heck thought marquette would get to the final four?!).

in other news, my brother is now gainfully employed! woo hoo! it's been a long haul for him, i know, but he'll be starting (next monday i believe?) at watson wyatt, a consulting firm. i didn't get a chance to talk to him about what specifically he'll be doing, but i'm excited that he finally found a place to get his foot in the door. anyone who has him will surely be glad they hired him. congrats, zol!
