two interesting tidbits to report on today...
sue hall, who is one of the coordinators for the choir that i'm in, just got asked to go on tour this summer as a back-up singer for neil young. now, i'm not a neil young fan or anything, but that's a pretty damn sweet gig. she's a pretty good singer, too, although i think it's more a case of right-place-right-time. but hey, whatever works!
my lovely friend pabs will be going to sydney, australia, for three months to cover the filming of star wars episode iii. yay pabs! that's very cool for him. i'll do my travelling vicariously through him until the day that i actually get to go visit australia myself. evidently the new star wars book (force heretic ii: refugee, book 16 in the new jedi order series) has parts that are set on the planet csilla. pabs was reading passages from the book to me last night, including ones that described the "sun dazzling against the cold stone heart of csilla" and other such misnomers. i'm not an ice queen, i swear! pretty funny, though. something i'll need to add to my collection of oddities. hey, every once in a while it's useful to have a unique name...
