happy earth day! coincidentally also my name day (a hungarian tradition), which i find funny considering my vocation.
had a pretty decent weekend... i went to the earthquakes and cyberrays doubleheader (cyberrays lost 0-2, quakes tied after overtime 1-1). the quakes looked excellent, with the exception of one player. most of the new guys continue to impress me... craig waibel and todd dunivant, the new defenders, played tough, tight games. brian ching didn't have as outstanding a game as he did last week against the rapids, but he was still solid. brian mullan was pretty solid as well. manny looked better this week, including one beauuuutiful curling lob shot into the upper right corner of the net which tony meola *somehow* stopped. unbelievable. much fun to be sitting with bryan and his father-in-law, and i'm excited that we'll be chilling with them all season. meghan made it to saturday's game, but she usually works saturdays so i'm guessing we won't see her much. i did discover that i need to not eat chicken parmesan sausages at the game, though, because my stomach still hates me for it.
sunday morning early, la madre and i headed down to orange county for our usual easter jaunt. el padre didn't come at the last minute because he didn't want to leave my nagymama is in the hospital. anyway, had a good couple of days down in good ol' laguna hills... lots of food, random games, and hanging out. i always love to see my cousins, so it's good times. i got knocked out of the biannual bocce ball round-robin tourney early, so i got to get out of the competitiveness that always seems to abound ;) two of my guys cousins are getting SO buffed out though. crazy! tay is pitching at csu pomona, and is finally in the starting rotation. yay tay! he's pitching against sfsu on friday when i can't go watch, though. big bummer. :( and steve is pumping iron to gain muscle mass back after his chest surgery. man, the two of them are starting to be bulging! ahh, well, good motivation to get back in shape. laura has decided on university of redlands in the fall, for which i'm hoping she'll play soccer so i can live vicariously through her.
anyu and i headed to the long beach aquarium of the pacific on monday morning while my cousin was at school and aunt and uncle at work... it was actually really cool! it's not quite as cool as monterey bay aquarium, but that's my baby so i don't think anything will ever compare. it's pretty nice though, and had very cool outdoor shark and ray tanks. i had a nice mom who bought me a cool long-sleeve shirt from the aquarium, too. yay!
and that's that. back to work!
