went to see sjsu spartans lose to nevada at football yesterday. it was an interesting game, at least... spartans came back from what looked to be a blowout loss, and got within 5 points. they could have gone ahead if they hadn't thrown an interception at the last minute, which basically put the game out of reach. it served as good starter fodder for my excitement to watch ucla football. i can't wait for that game!! and it's not for another month and a half. *sigh* maybe i'll go down to LA for the ucla-cal game on the 18th. hmm...

interesting, though, because neil parry made it back on the field to play. neil parry, who you may have heard of because of all the publicity lately, broke his lower right leg in a game in 2000. because of the severity of the break and ensuing infection, his lower leg had to be amputated. last night, after three years, some 25 surgeries, and several prothetic legs, he stepped back onto the field as part of the spartan punt return team. neil was voted captain for this game by his teammates. his brother josh, who plays for the philadelphia eagles, flew out for the game (and was sitting right behind me!). the media wouldn't leave him alone. he didn't play much, but what a story of determination this guy has.

also, the spartans honored their 2003 inductees to the sjsu hall of fame.... among the honorees was our very own jeff garcia. yay jeff! kind of surprises me that he wasn't inducted sooner, but it was cool that he was at the game i happened to go to.

game three for zephyr tomorrow, wish me luck! :D
