fleet week has begun, and the blue angels have been flying over all day. MAN, are they ever loud. i wonder about the practicality of fleet week in wartime... should we be concerned about the concentration of military personnel and aircraft/ships in a small area? we don't want to be another pearl harbor. interesting how i really hadn't considered this before, when fleet week occurs annually. oh well, i guess we're all hypersensitive to U.S. military presence around the world right now. some of my coworkers were berating the military today, although i for one am glad we have them. i don't think i would be able to be a militaristic persona, so i'm glad for the people who are willing and able to defend our country in the name of all that is free. i don't condone unnecessary military action, but i will always support our soldiers. this year's fleet week will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of the korean war.
