i'm so angry and frustrated with 55% of california's voters... i had no idea that california was so conservatively-minded. on a good note, though, at least i'm living in the right part of california-- every single bay area county voted "no" on the recall. now, davis wasn't doing the best job, but the democratic process put him in office. his being booted from office was spurred by a shockingly low number of people, and was funded primarily by some rich republican dude who wanted to take control of the governor's mansion. and who do we put in davis's place? an actor? jeez, we all know what happened the last time we did that. sheesh. i'm so scared about what is going to happen to this great state of ours.... are the people who voted for arnold now going to vote to keep bush in office too?!! time to move to canada, this whole place is going to hell.
what a week this has been. i'm waiting for the apocalypse.
and my shin splints are back, too. :(
one good thing, though, possibly-- i may be singing a solo in my choir performances in december. jude, the director, picked me out to sing this particular part in practice yesterday, and i think he was somewhat taken aback that i actually can sing decently. alberta, one of my fellow choirmembers who also sings alto II, says she suggested to jude that he try having me solo. the part he tried me on is actually a mezzo-soprano part, but it's not very high so it's still in my range. i'm not very confident in my singing ability, and was overwhelmingly nervous, but i think i did okay. but, scary scary!
