i'm so scared of the possibility that arnold will beat the recall. i'm so frustrated with the fact that a womanizing, non-politically savvy, wishy washy republican is garnering so much attention because he's a damn actor. what the hell does he know about running a state? did we learn anything from jesse ventura's lack of staying power, or from ronald reagan and his trickle-down economics? come on, people. are californians really that ignorant and uninformed as to vote for someone who can't even be clear about what he stands for? if you're a republican and you're voting for arnold because he's republican, man, at least vote for mcclintock. i don't agree with the guy's views, but at least he's a solid, intelligent man with concise and publicly-known views, as well as political experience. if you think california is going to hell in handbasket now, just wait and see what happens if an idiot like arnold takes the reins.
and for all those people who think the womanizing is just a washed up, back-in-the-days thing that should be overlooked because he's an actor and that's how actors act... i say bullshit! the larger picture is that he obviously (and recently, not just in his bodybuilding days) has a lesser value and respect for women and their role in society. if he can take those people for granted, what else can i as a female voter expect to see him do? not to say that politicians are angels, because they surely aren't... but if his pattern of behavior is obvious, and will likely continue as such, how can anyone possibly condone that person manipulating laws and rules that impact our everyday lives? it's bad enough with bush in office!
*sigh*
it also was a really crappy sports weekend. bruins and niners won, everyone else lost. including the damn a's, who can't seem to pull off a sure thing if their life depended on it. they'd better win tonight, that's all i can say.
