ah, work. my lovely trip to barstow past, and i'm back at my lovely desk. i'm pretty exhausted, but it was a good trip (despite its location). i talked to a number of really great desert conservationists, and it makes me somewhat depressed about how little contact i have with actual restoration activities. i'd like to get back to on-the-ground work sooner rather than later... i was talking to chris mccreedy, too (one of prbo's cool birders), and i'd really love to get out to some of the restoration and survey sites he's at.

some interesting things going on (good and bad)-- got to hang with taylor a little on both ends of the barstow trip. always good to see the cousins :) makes me so glad that i have such a good relationship with them. jessica's birthday was monday, and so liz (nfwf liz), susan, and i took her out to dinner at gordon biersch last night. yummy! judy spent the weekend in the hospital with scary liver problems, but she's fortunately doing better now. get better, judy! no more drinky drinky for her, but that's probably a healthy (and economically positive) thing anyway. today is zan's last day! :( he's travelling to maine and israel starting in may. it'll be much fun for him, but we'll definitely miss him around here.

and so begins the month of too much stuff to do! most of my march weekends are taken up with soccer and/or ucla stuff. it'll be fun, of course, but busy busy. scholarship stuff is coming up soon, and i get to decide the fates of young minds. woo hoo! ;)
