fourteen innings and the a's lose on a balk! arrrrghh! it sounds like it wasn't even really a balk, either. first base umpire mike dimuro just wanted to go home. it also looked like karros wasn't ready for the throw, since he was standing off the bag. i guess that's what happens when you have subs in for half the team (chavy at one point was playing left field, and the commentators kept joking about bringing him in to pitch. sheesh).

in other sports news, though... the earthquakes won 3-1 over the weekend, in a come-from-behind win over the new england revolution. the scoring party included a bicycle kick from derosario, and lovely through-passes from landon donovan to arturo alvarez and brian ching. nicely done. moving on, maurice clarett may still be blocked from the draft, as he well should be. oh, and zephyr won this weekend... our first win since our first game! woo hoo! there still appears to be drama, though. *sigh* girls can be so frustratingly passive-aggressive sometimes. the sharks start their next playoff series against colorado, and bryan is actually going to root for san jose! :)

my boston trip is a go, finally... i haven't gotten ahold of meg yet, so i might not get to see her, but i'll be staying with boston judy so i'll definitely see her! :) i'm excited. i need a vacation.

it seems like other things have been going on, but when i get down to blogging about it, i can't remember much. oh well.
