i may get harangued by my fellow a's fans, but hell yeah! go bosox! i caught a bit of the red sox fever when i was in boston in may, taking a tour of fenway and just being town in general. it's fun being in a town that so loves its team. a clutch showing from the injured (bleeding!) curt schilling saved the team from a couple of mueller errors, giving the red sox a 2-0 lead in the series. down with the curse of the bambino, i say. as long as johnny damon gives up the redneck look. sheesh.

zephyr's first loss of the season came in saturday's early-morning shower. we played well, but the other team had a few players that ran circles around us. it was only a 0-2 loss, so not bad. we'll beat 'em next time. :) also in sports news: the quakes won their first-of-two aggregate goal series against kansas city, 2-0. woo hoo! and the championship game is in los angeles again, so i may get to go again! hmmm.....

the highlight of this weekend, though, was the hornblower champagne brunch cruise yesterday. i took heather out for her birthday, and it ended up being a beautiful day on the bay. after a few days of rain, the sky cleared and freshened for a lovely breezy day. we both felt so adult (and slightly out of place, as such) but it was very fun and very pleasant. we dined well and then sat out under the warm sun as the ship cruised under san francisco's most famous landmark, by the tiburon shore, around the backside of alcatraz, and back towards the city skyline. there was a good crowd aboard, including the ladies from a red hat society, a couple that got engaged while enroute, and numerous folks out with family and loved ones. a good time was had by all. :)
