down in oc for the annual turkey day festivities-- i love spending time with my family. the cousins all get along so well, so it's always a good time with lots of goofing off and LOTS of eats. mmm cheesy potatoes! but most of all, thanksgiving gives me a chance to actually sit down and think about the things in my life that i'm thankful for. here's a small taste:
--family and friends who love me
--crazy charades and lightning and soccer competitions
--a happy, healthy relationship with someone amazing
--keeping busy by doing some things i love (soccer, singing, etc.) with cool groups of people
--living in san francisco, a fun liberal city with entertainment aplenty
--an iq that meets blue state standards ;)
--being able to spend the holidays with (most of) the people i love
--taking almost 10 straight days off of work to relax in tahoe and chill with family
--having a job (hey, this economy...)
i would like to add "having a new job" to this list, too. any takers? tpl? hello?
tahoe last weekend, by the way, was yet again a blast. liz and marla sadly were not able to make it due to extreme illness :( but heather and i had a good time anyway. it's an amazing place, and the weather was beautiful and sunny. cold, but it's november, what do you expect? we didn't do any snow-related stuff because there wasn't really enough snow on the ground to do anything-- but next time i'm going to learn how to snowboard, i swear! i really want to learn. i'm chicken, i know, because of my knee, but i really do want to learn. we gambled a little (roulette isn't quite as fun when you lose!), ate at harrah's 18th floor buffet with a cool view, shopped for bear stuff, drove around looking at houses and at amazing lake views, went bowling, watched some movies, just generally relaxed and went places when we felt like going. it's nice to have vacations without strict agendas, because then you don't feel rushed or stressed.
anyway, hope all is well with everyone and i hope you all had a great turkey day! more when i get back to town.
