i guess all the hard work has finally paid off-- i got the offer from stanford this morning! the position is research administration (contract negotiation and management) in the office of sponsored research. the position i'm getting hired for is a split between the school of medicine and the school of humanites and sciences, so it'll be an interesting mix of projects to manage. it'll be similar work to what i'm doing now, but with a greater breadth of mobility, growth opportunities, and new challenges. the pay's not bad either :) i'm very excited to have this new opportunity, and all of the benefits that come with a job at a university. it'll be interesting when ucla comes to stanford in october though!
i gave my two weeks' notice today, too, so my last day at nfwf will be february 4. it's very weird, i've been here for so long that it's going to be strange to wrap up and start something new soon. i've gotten so accustomed to the work i'm doing, the work environment, the people i work with, that'll it'll be strange to get up in the morning and be surrounded by completely new faces after nearly four years of the same ones. i'll definitely keep in touch with both claire and heather, as well as some of the others, as i have learned a lot from working with them and appreciate their contributions to my life. i would work with both of them again in a heartbeat, and they feel the same way about me-- a nice connection to have.
thanks to those who have supported me through the trials and tribulations of the job-searching process. it has finally proved fruitful. yay!
