a few quick tidbits... sorry so short, but i'm a busy girl these days.
h and i spent a few lovely days last week in tahoe... have i mentioned how much i love it up there? even though it was october, we had beautiful, clear, crisp weather the entire time we were there. we mostly spent the vacation relaxing, since we both needed it, but it's one of my favorite places to just enjoy being in. i would love to be able to buy vacation property up there and be able to spend a week/weekend up there at my leisure. maybe someday, when i have money. any ski bunnies out there want to go in on a tahoe house?
saw my buddies in goldenstate perform at 330 ritch last friday, after a six-month hiatus and the training of a new lead guitarist. they were rockin' as always, and it was great to be able to hang out with them and see them play. i love being able to support them, and am very excited because they'll be competing in the M.E.A.N.Y. fest at CBGB next weekend. if you are in the nyc area, please go check them out and vote for them! they are awesome and could really use your support and love.
this past weekend also saw some lovely sports activity:
1) zephyr won yet again, making us 5-0 on the season. undefeated, baby!
2) the earthquakes tied their last home game with almost a full field of reserves, capping off a season that left them undefeated at home, clinching the supporter's shield (best league record), and well on their way to another championship game
3) and my favorite clip of the week: UCLA beat cal, 47-40. woo hoo! that moves my bruins up to 12th in the polls! i of course couldn't wait to rub it in on monday...
sunday, liz, heather, and i hit up marine world... finally! we'd been trying to go all summer and it took us until sunday to do it. it was fun, as expected from a theme park. we saw the tiger, orca, and dolphin shows, and rode almost every big ride (except zonga, which was closed). the ocean discovery bit that they've been publicizing? yeah, it sucks. good thing the rest of the park is fun. if you want to see ocean discovery stuff, go to the monterey bay aquarium or the aquarium of the bay in sf. marine world is not the place to try to touch the rays.
only two and a half more weeks until the UCLA tailgate party! i can't wait.
