after much sweat, measuring, and lovely unsolicited help from a random office visitor, i am now moved into my new office. i revised the furniture arrangement (with bigger and newer furniture, no less) so there's much more available space. unfortunately, i don't have small tables or chairs to fill that extra space, so it looks somewhat empty for now. i was hoping to get a small table left in here by jonathan (the office's last occupant), but he gave it to heather, who also has the nicer office. meh. oh well. after the last few weeks, i think the foundation is running out of ways to screw me. i'll be glad when that list comes to an end. at any rate, i'm moved in, pictures are up on the walls, and i'm pretty much back on track.
the vegas/palm springs fiasco has been resolved, though not to my needs. it turns out that i'll be going to the conference march 5-7, which means that i need to finance my own full fare to and from vegas. unfortunately, because it has taken so long to make any decisions, there are no longer any flights from vegas. i'm most likely going to be flying into ontario thursday night and driving out to vegas with the cousins. due to understanding parents and a lack of concern for the workplace that enjoys screwing me, i'll be able to swing it. time to look for a new job? i think so, although the nice bottle of red wine last night sure helped, too.
it's sad, really, how much i complain about my petty life when there are such hugely dramatic and traumatic things going on in the world. i don't have to face homelessness, pain, death, war, social unrest, hunger, and so on, but yet i find the need to whine about those headache-inducing things. i'm just a little bitch sometimes, true, but hey, it's my life and my bloggy and what i happen to be thinking about, so tough cookies.
speaking of cookies, i made some last night... floppy disks, with a twist (i added cinnamon chips to the regular chocolate-brownie fare). yum! we had a potluck for lunch at work today... heather brought this amazing banana cream pie from the restaurant she works at (liberty cafe in bernal heights), jonathan brought tostada fixings complete with homemade (and stellar!) refried beans, rebecca made guacamole, among others. and i brought cookies. i think i cooked some of them a little too long, but they still worked out okay. lots of leftovers that i should just bring home with me, because they'll probably get icky if i leave them here over the weekend. better eaten than icky.
i think it's coming to the end for my beloved dog... stay tuned, but i fear it won't be long. :(
