don't forget to exercise your right as american citizens to have a say in the way the country is being run-- go vote! it's so great to see people so passionate about this election... i guess things have to get that bad for people to stand up and take action. my brother is in his third city as a volunteer staffer (las cruces, nm now after socorro, nm, and flagstaff, az). my boss may take tomorrow as a personal day to work a phone bank. my officemate's parents are driving from pennsylvania to southern ohio to transport folks to the polls in their minivan. get out the vote, baby!
after months of no visual contact, i finally got to spend some time with my favorite mo-town kids, bryan and meghan. they came out to sf for the decibully show at bruno's in the mission, and we headed it up with a nice dinner at cheesecake factory to start it off. decibully is a milwaukee band, which is part of why bry wanted to see them, but they were pretty good. mellow alt rock, with an accordion/keyboard, two guitars, two basses, drums, and lots of percussion toys (7 guys in the band in all). they had some good numbers and i probably would have picked up their album if it had been available at their merch table. their opening band was too pink floyd ethereal for me, though. all in all, though, it was fun and it was good to see bry and meg. we definitely need to figure out more ways to hang out.
the earthquakes lost their second playoff game and lost on aggregate goals to kansas city, who really should have won anyway (they rode the season at the top of the league). the problem now is that the local investor search has stalled, because the supposed buyer is no longer an option. that means that the team still has the potential to move, or even fold. how sad... i hope someone steps up. larry ellison, where are you?
why must lines be drawn on love? love is rarely a matter of black and white, so why dictate a world with no grey?
